FAQs

Where do your crickets come from?

Our crickets are 100% Canadian and grown in Ontario. They are processed and prepared with our specific requirements to get you the best tasting product with a fine grind, mild taste and light colour.

What do crickets taste like?

Crickets are often described as having a mild, nutty flavour with a hint of earthiness.

At EarthProof we use all natural flavours like cocoa, sea salt and vanilla bean in our cricket protein powder.

Overall, the flavour of cricket protein powders is relatively subtle and can easily blend with other ingredients.

Why should I eat crickets?

Nutritional Benefits: Crickets are a highly nutritious source of protein, containing all essential amino acids. They also provide vitamins (B vitamins, including B12), minerals (iron, zinc), and healthy fats (omega-3 fatty acids).

Sustainability: Crickets are incredibly eco-friendly compared to traditional livestock. They require significantly less water, land, and feed to produce the same amount of protein, contributing to a lower environmental footprint.

Reduced Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Rearing crickets generates fewer greenhouse gas emissions, making them a more climate-friendly protein source compared to traditional livestock.

Biodiversity: Incorporating insects like crickets into our diets diversifies our food sources and reduces the strain on conventional livestock farming.

Before incorporating crickets or any new food into your diet, it's essential to consider personal preferences, dietary restrictions, and allergies.
